Nashik is one of the most important cities of Northern Maharashtra. It is the largest religious gathering, attracting a huge crowd of devotees. Nashik is the third most industrialized city of Maharashtra, after Mumbai and Pune. Nashik is also emerging as a BPO/IT destination and is in list of the selected Tier II cities for BPO/IT companies. It is also referred to as the "Wine Capital of India" contributing around 60% to the Indian wine production.
